ITAM

ITAM, our IT Asset Management program helps CFOs gain a greater Return-On-Investment (ROI) by targeting computers, notebooks, LCD-monitors and other electronic equipment in working condition. The E-Scrap team works closely with corporate management to assess the potential residual value of the equipment and ensure the best possible ROI.

Our experience and extensive client base enables us to provide prompt resale of large numbers of tested used working equipment in Florida and beyond. Together with our industrial partner YBC, (with locations in Somerset, NJ, Houston, TX, Toronto, ON and St. Petersburg, FL), we can provide service anywhere in the U.S.

How it Works

Our IT asset management process includes a minimal fee to cover logistics for handling equipment from on-site pick up to ready-to-sell; the re-sale market value of the equipment is then shared with the client, in line with a pre-arranged agreement, to provide the greatest ROI.

If the client prefers, the equipment may be re-introduced into their network at lower tier levels, including uploading its proprietary or standard OS; or donated to a not-for-profit (IRC501(c)(3) institution of their choice.

Data Safety Management

Equipment functionality and data safety management are integral components of our IT asset management program and we are committed to keeping client information confidential.

Our data wipe or drive destruction processes use custom programs to meet government-mandated legislation, such a: the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Sarbanes-Oxley, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), or the Gramm-Leach-Bailey Act (GLBA), among others.

These processes may either take place in our facility or at the client’s location, as may be required by law. Data wipe programs may use either the DoD compliant 5220-22M or the NIST 800-88, in addition to multi-pass overwriting proprietary or the client's own program.

Hard disk drives (HDD) are physically destroyed with our electro-hydraulic SledgeHammer CR5818 Mark-I portable system, that applies a 12600 pounds low torque impact, punching right through and actually totally destroying the drive.

Tape drive degaussing is achieved with our Erase-O-Matic digital/video tape degausser, an efficient eraser that wipes or degausses data so it can never be retrieved. For the record, a Certificate of Sanitization or Destruction is issued, detailing processes used for each lot of HDD wiped, destroyed or degaussed.
